Positionable bed Latera Acute is equipped with both sided lateral tilt till15° and therefore it is an ideal device for hospitalization of immobile patients in acute hospital departments. Lateral tilt helps caregivers to perform routine nursing activities with minimum physical effort. The bed enables the height and tilt adjustment, positioning of the mattress platform sections - all by means of electric motors.

Lateral tilt - the adequate working force in nursing  

Numerous daily nursing activities in hospitals and nursing homes bring physically demanding manipulation with partially or fully immobile patient or client. Lots of these activities are typically performed in lateral position of the patient or client, or request for lateral movement of the patient or client. Typical examples of these activities are:

• Bed making
• Patient or client toilet
• Patient or client re-dressing
• Patient or client hygiene
• Dorsal body parts treatments
• Positioning in pressure sores prevention
• Drainages support
• Transfer of the patient from the bed to the stretcher
• Transfer of the patient from the bed to the operation table

The safety GO button concept protects the patient against injury arising from any spontaneous movement of the bed. The GO button activates the bed controls for 3 minutes. 3 minutes after the button is pressed, the controls automatically deactivates so they only work the moment the bed is positioned intentionally. On the contrary, in unguarded moments the controls are inactive and the bed’s actuators cannot be spontaneously activated.

The central 5th castor enables easy movement of the bed. One person can turn the bed even in a small area without the need to overtake or move backwards.
